First Look
Vogue celebrated First Look with an exciting week of events in New York that included elite gatherings at the beautiful boutiques of Eres, Maxmara, and Lancome. The event series rolled right into New York Fashion Week which was kicked off with a star-studded bash with Vogue & BMW.
MAX MARA
Wednesday, February 11th
VOGUE previewed the MAX MARA Spring/Summer 2009 collection with an exciting event in the Max Mara boutique. Informal models completed rotations of the looks throughout the night to the music of DJ She Rock. Guests were also treated to a photographic retrospective by Jared Mossy.
 
ERES
Wednesday, February 11th
VOGUE, and The Women in Science Initiatives of Rockefeller University celebrated a model preview of the ERES Spring/Summer 2009 swimwear collection. Guests, including Boykin Curry, Bonnie Morrison, Susan Shin, Andrew Fry, Bronson Van Wyck, Lydia Fenet, Marissa Berkelhammer, Phoebe Kemble, Lela Rose, shopped the collection while enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres and wine.
 
LANCOME
Thursday, February 12th
Over 100 beauty enthusiasts got an early start to Valentine's Day at the LANCOME Boutique on New York's Upper West Side and a First Look at Lancome’s new “Pink Irreverence” Spring 2009 collection. The elegant and festive event treated guests to personalized makeovers, allowing them to experience the new collection. Guests received the romantic short stories compilation "Love Stories" (as featured in February VOGUE) and a customized, hand-made Valentine's card by a silhouette artist. Guests also enjoyed the sweets of Valentine’s Day with beautiful handmade chocolate hearts and fresh dipped chocolate strawberries with champagne.
 
BMW
Thursday, February 12th
Vogue and Free Arts of New York with hosts Helena Christensen, Chanel Iman and Joy Bryant, kicked off Fashion Week with a bang with the celebration of BMW and the design collaboration between BMW Design Chief, Adrian van Hooydonk and Vogue Italia Editor-In-Chief, Franca Sozzani, on the one-of-a-kind, special edition BMW 7 Series. Special guests included Rachel Zoe, Michelle Monaghan, Irina Pantaenva, Roberto Cavalli, John Patrick (Organic), Albertus Swanepoel, Robert Verdi and Ryan Leslie. DJ Donna D'Cruz set an amazing tone for the animated photography exhibition by Michel Comte which captured the innovative work by Franca and Adrian.
